Americas Cup 2021 returns to the City Of Sails (appropriate) – Auckland for the worlds most prestigious yacht racing series. The Americas Cup, a match race competition will only take place when a qualifying yacht club challenges the current holder of the Auld Mug (the cup). The last event in 2017 was staged in Bermuda and was won by Emirates Team New Zealand won the Louis Vuitton Cup and then challenged the defender, Oracle Team USA. New Zealand won the America’s Cup with a score of 7 to 1.. In 2013 the race took place in San Francisco.

As above, the defending team, currently holding the Americas Cup is challenged by an apposing team / club in order for a race series to be engaged. The main locations to have recently staged the recent races include Valencia and San Diego, other than the aforementioned. The most memorable series had to be the one back in 2013 in San Francisco, between Oracle Team USA & Team NZ where the Americans claimed victory 9/8 after Team NZ took a significant lead that the American clawed back.
